User Test Non Moderate

Unmoderated remote user testing: UX research method where participants interact with a product, site or functionality at their own pace, without direct supervision. Used in the discovery phase, this test enables us to gather spontaneous qualitative feedback on users' understanding, navigation and expectations in conditions close to the real thing.
In a CRO (Conversion Rate Optimization) approach, user testing is highly complementary to A/B testing:
- It is particularly suited to exploratory or behavioral hypotheses (e.g. understanding why a page doesn't convert, detecting blockages not visible in the data).
- A/B testing, on the other hand, is more relevant for validating precise, high-stakes hypotheses, based on quantitative data (e.g.: "This version will increase the conversion rate by +X%").
Combining these two approaches maximizes the chances of identifying solid optimization levers:
→ User testing feeds ideas and helps detect weak signals.
→ A/B testing validates their real impact in a measurable and statistically reliable way.
This complementarity creates a virtuous iteration process, where intuition derived from observation is objectively tested to guide product and marketing decisions.
